The most common question we are asked?
A: The WaterSmart approach to washing a vehicle relies on a two-step process.
- Dirt Removal: product is sprayed over section of vehicle and then removed with a clean micro-fiber towel. The Freedom car wash product, combined with the use of the micro-fiber towels effectively lifts the dirt from the vehicle.
- Area that has been cleaned is buffed with a micro-fiber towel to achieve a lasting shine.
Q: Are there other waterless car wash products on the market?
A: There are several different products on the market claiming to be effective in washing cars without using water. Beware – not all products are the same! Some have a base content of kerosene. Others simply do not work effectively, leaving streaks and grime behind. We have tried as many of them as we can get our hands on and believe the Freedom products are the best because of their environmentally friendly content and their ability to work in our very hot climate.
Q: Which is better for my car, a ‘waterless wash’ or a system that uses a water spray and detergents?
A: We believe that the ‘waterless’ approach is better for your vehicle for several reasons. First, it not only removes dirt and grime from the surface of your vehicle, it also leaves behind a protective component that will enhance and safeguard the exterior of your vehicle. This matters here in Texas given our endless days of sunshine.
Second, this approach does not scratch your vehicle. The dirt is removed safely and gently by hand, making it easier on the painted surface of your vehicle. Automated car washes use either a force of water blasted at the surface of your vehicle or a mechanized spinning brush that can leave tiny scratches in your painted surfaces.
Q: But I have read that ‘waterless’ car washes do scratch vehicles! I saw this on the Internet so it must be true!
A: See above! Although the naysayers will tell you that you can only truly clean a vehicle if you use water, this is no longer the case. Thanks to new developments in the chemistry behind waterless products you can now have a sparkling clean car without using any water to remove the dirt.
